Sleep and InsomniaThere are times that you can not get yourself to sleep because you worried or bothered by certain problems. However, there also when you can not get yourself to sleep and you do not know why. However, there are times you feel very sleepy and your eyes are really tired and sick and, yet, you just can not get yourself to sleep. You keep throwing up in bed, ruffled pillow you sleep, but it is difficult to understand and you want to know what really happened to you. And just when the sun is shining and you should wake up to start your day, suddenly, you fall asleep. That is the inability to sleep, or sleep pattern disturbances, such as wake up after a few hours of sleep.

Many people have the wrong idea that our mind and body in a state of passive while we sleep. Conversely, it is a state of consciousness or dynamic activities that give our body’s time to rest and build strength while the brain continues to work. Sleep has five stages. During the first stage, light sleep and can be easily awakened. At this stage, the eyes move very slowly and muscle activity. Oftentimes, when a person is awakened, sudden muscle contractions occur as if you are falling off. Sleep and waking are influenced by different neurotransmitter signals in the brain. When food and drugs change the balance of these signals, we begin to feel wary or later. This also affects the way we sleep. Coffee and other caffeinated beverages and weight loss diet pills can cause insomnia by stimulating certain parts of the brain. Many people suffer from insomnia try to encourage sleep by taking over the counter sleeping pills. Others resort to alcohol which only produce light sleep, but eliminating them from REM and deeper, more restorative stages of sleep.
